Happy First Day of Spring!!
I for one am very happy that we are now into spring. However, I think that spring is still going to be quite a ways away for me as the amount of snow we have doesn't seem that it will be gone any time soon. We got a second large dump of snow at the end of February, so we have a few feet of snow still. I'm hopeful though that because we have been hitting 10 degrees every day then maybe we will start to see some melting soon. That being said I wanted to make a post about what I consider to be the top 5 essentials that you need for spring, whether that is something to wear, something to have in your bag, or just something that you need in your house. Let's dive in.
*These are my opinion, there are many more things that can be considered essentials for springtime*
1. Good Spring Coat
Now, this is something that can also be considered a fall coat. Just a lighter coat that you can add layers under while still not sweating through it during that day when the weather heats up. I typically don't use a coat very much in the spring but I always bring it with me in case the weather turns, I really like wearing chunky sweaters, cardigans, jean jackets, etc. so that's what I typically wear during the cooler spring months.
2. Waterproof Shoes
This could be rubber boots, (I currently don't have a pair and have been looking for some), or it can even mean just a pair of shoes with a larger sole so that your feet don't get wet. I currently just use a pair of sneakers most of the time, but mine are worn out, I noticed last time that I wore them my feet got a little bit wet by the time I got home.
3. Umbrella
This is something that I will usually keep in my car (when I am driving, currently my car is parked). It is always a good thing to have on hand because you never know when the weather may change and even if it's just sunny and you are getting too warm this is very useful in blocking out the heat as well.
4. Oversized Totes
These are coming back into style, while these are nice when traveling I find that they are more of a nuisance than anything when you are just doing errands around town. Just bring extra bags with you. I will always recommend a tote for road trips though, I love using mine on road trips and we are getting into that season again which I am excited about.
5. Reusable Water Bottle
Whether that is a Hydro Flask, Stanley Cup (or a Reduce dupe like I found), or just a cheap water bottle, having a reusable water bottle on hand at all times. Having a water bottle with you while you are starting to enjoy hiking, biking, walking, etc is essential.
What are some things that you consider essentials for spring? Do they match mine or do you have some different ones?
