Today I have found 5 recipes that I think are the epitome of autumn flavours. With the first day of autumn being tomorrow, I thought this was the perfect time to share some Autumn recipes. I can't wait to try some of these. All of these will be links so that you can print the recipe off yourself, (credit where credit is due; I didn't come up with these recipes). If I haven't made the recipe yet but eventually do I will update this post to include any notes.
Apple Fritter Bread
Now personally I think that Apple Fritters are the perfect donut, and they encompass all the autumn flavours that I love. However, deep frying at home is not really something that I love to do so I have found an Apple Fritter Bread recipe that will give you all the flavours of Apple Fritters without the "danger" of deep frying.
Potato Soup
I love a good soup, and for this round-up, I was torn between a corn chowder (which I made last weekend; so good) or this potato soup which I am making tomorrow. I obviously decided on the potato soup because that just reminds me of Autumn and it was always a soup we had growing up around this time of year. I always end up doing a few things that change the recipe so mine is never exactly like the listed recipe due to me making mine dairy-free, and I don't eat pork. I also hate onion so I blend it in the blender before using it.
Chicken Pot Pie
Chicken pot pie has always been something that I was never keen on as a kid but as I've gotten older I love the comfort classics. Again I made changes so that I can eat it, like dairy-free, blended onion, etc. I tried this recipe yesterday and it was really good. I made the crust myself instead of buying crusts and I was surprised with how well it turned out. She also has a link for how to make the crust, but if you don't want to you obviously don't have to.
*I made this on Thursday and it was so good. Once thing I did change is I added potatoes and I could have done with more gravy.*
Overnight Pumpkin French Toast Casserole
I love an easy breakfast, when it's easy I actually want to have breakfast. I haven't tried this recipe yet but one of these weekends I will be for sure trying it. Maybe next weekend.
Pumpkin Brownies
Brownies are always a hit in our house, while I've never made pumpkin brownies before these are definitely going on my list of recipes to try. The recipe that I found looks really good.
I hope that you try some of these recipes yourself. If you do I would love to know what you thought. Happy Autumn!
